We started early Saturday…
…and were on the road before sunrise with 440 km ahead of us.
We were going north to Tsumeb, an old mining town.
Tsumeb was founded in 1905 when Namibia was a German colony but this has been a place for mining activities since pre-historic time and in Tsumeb copper, lead, silver, gold, arsenic and germanium has been found. It is today a neat little town with a population of about 15 000.
It is also a very green town with beautiful parks. We were however not here for mining, parks or even for tourism.
We were visting Tsumeb Gymnastics Club…
…because they were hosting the 1st Qualifying Competition in Rhythmic Gymnastic…
…and for Hanna it was important to perform well here to be able to compete in the National Competitions later this year.
While I prepare more pictures and videos for my next post you can watch the girls warm up…
