Driving the B1 north for 256 km’s will take you to Otjiwarongo and another 212 km’s will take you to Grootfontein. Below are posts on things to do (click on head-lines, not on photos!):
As you leave Otjiwarongo driving north you turn right to get to the CCF.
Visiting the CCF is great opportunity to see Cheetah and to get to know more about them.
Not far north of the CCF is one of our favourite lodges.
Christmas Day at Frans Indongo Lodge
When it is a favourite you will have to return!
Northeast Day 1 – To Grootfontein
This blogpost will tell you where to have lunch when you are in Otjiwarongo, about the Hoba Metorite and a good place to stay the night in Grootfontein.
More on the Hoba Meteorite
Southeast of Grootfontein is the Ovisume hunting farm. It’s a great place to visit – even when you only use the camera for hunting.
Sunset and lots of animals.
More light and still a lot of animals.
Another nice visit at Ovisume.
Northeast Day 9 – Eraly morning Ovisume
A bit south of Otjiwarongo is this old and beautiful lodge for that relaxing weekend…
Sit in the lodge garden and enjoy what is happening at the lake
Beautiful drive and a good variety of animals
Excellent lodge only 2,5 hours drive from Windhoek
