The first weekend in June was spent on this nice place.
Rostock Ritz lodge is found 230 km southwest of Windhoek. Drive the C26 and then C14. The small houses just barely pops up from the desert…
…and the view over the Namib Desert is magnificent!
I had spent the first half of my Saturday as a bomb target, survived and returned to see some flying machines…
…some of them busy in the circuit trying to score points in a landing competition…
…… with some of the Swedes checking out results.
After landing they were waved in by “Captain Hans”…
…while other was just resting, like my friend from last year…
…or the two beautiful RV-8’s that were not able to drop bombs but well to roll over the target.
But even this day reached it’s end…
…in a most beautiful way…
…and it was time to return again to the airfield…
…for a sundowner to start the festive evening.
Speeches held, well-deserved pilots decorated…
…and West-Air presented a very nice propeller trophy to make sure Kücki (far right in the picture) keeps on arranging these very nice fly-in’s.
Thanks a lot for letting us take part!
