Today was the day for the official inauguration of Surveillance control in Namibia airspace. The Air Traffic Control Center looked neater than ever…
All WAM-stations were up and running…
Professionals ready to do the job…
Smart looking ICAO advisors…
Since I was doing the “helpdesk” I missed the grand ceremony but it was obviously a success…
…in a helicopter hangar that looked nothing like a helicopter hangar…
…full with people that enjoyed the occasion…
…including the spouses!
Out in the sun photos were taken and everyone wanted their picture taken when shaking hands with the president. Norbert succeeded…
…and so did Laurel…
Although Harold and Fredrik were close it was Zac on the left hand side who won the competition. He got the last handshake of the day…
Finally, the big black cars rolled away and things went back to business as (almost) usual…
(And, yes I did speak to the president and I did shake his hand. No photos were taken…)
